Limited 3 Year Furniture Warranty Furniture Care and Maintenance Instructions

 

Limited Warranty

Elon’s Custom Furniture, Inc. warrants that each piece of furniture manufactured in our Honolulu, Hawaii shop will be free from defects in  workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns and uses the products within the 3 year period.

Subject to the limitations and exclusions herein,Elon’s, at its discretion and as the sole remedy under the Elon’s  Limited Warranty, will replace or repair a defective product or components with comparable product or components free of charge while the piece is Hawaii. This warranty is made only to the original purchaser from Elon’s, for as long as that original purchaser owns and uses the product in the state of Hawaii. The warranty will be in effect any time the piece is in Hawaii.

The Elon's Custom Furniture Furniture warranty period begins at the time you receive the product in your home for a period of 3 years on any manufacturers defect.

LIMITATIONS: USE/CARE

  • Warranty is limited to normal single shift use.
  • Warranty is limited to generally accepted care and maintenance of natural wood products and environments.
  • Natural wood surfaces are subject to denting, scratching, and gauging if not properly used and cared for.
  • WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
    • Damage identified as owner,installer, or shipping related.
    • Normal wear and tear of wood products during course of ownership.
    • Color, grain, or texture of natural wood materials, laminates and other covering materials.
    • Damages or failures resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, improper care, modifications, or relocation.
    • So-called “ghost” indentions and similar damage caused by the failure to use appropriate care.
    • Damages to seating products caused by contact with tables, desks, or other surfaces.
    • LIMITATIONS: MATERIALS/COMPONENTS
  • Elon’s may repair or replace an item  that was not caused by manufacturer or builder defects at the cost of the customer or at at materials cost. The discretion is at Elon’s.
  • All Warranty Claims are subject to Elon’s-approved inspections.
  • Please note that seasonal wood movement on solid wood products and checking/cracking on wood tops are normal and are not considered warranty issues.
  • Each piece of furniture is made specifically for each individual customer, no two pieces will be exactly the same.
  • In regards to our Natural Finishes, the grain, texture and tone of each plank will vary from board to board which is natural and is to be expected and celebrated as this is the hallmark and beauty of Natural Solid Wood Furniture.
FINISHES

The beauty of solid wood  comes from the variations created by nature including color, grain, and texture. These variations are not considered defects and Elon’s Limited Lifetime Warranty does not cover color, grain and texture variations associated with natural wood and grain seen in any finish color.

Finishes such as Clear Maple, Light/Gunstock Walnut, and Clear/Caramel Cherry will display more natural characteristics due to their light stain. Grain, pattern and color from unit to unit are not guaranteed or warranted and products will not be replaced due to these variations. Exposure to light and age will cause darkening of natural wood products; therefore Elon’s cannot guarantee or warrant finish match of new products being placed with existing products in the field.

Light and Natural Finishes may reflect these differences more, while Medium to Dark Finishes will blend natural wood differences. These variations and differences are not considered defects and Elon’s Limited Lifetime Warranty does not cover color, grain, and texture variations associated with natural wood and grain seen in any finish color.

RETURN/REFUND POLICY:

Since each item is handmade to order, all sales are final. We do not accept returns and/or refunds on any of our products. In the case a return has been agreed to by both Elon's and the client, upon return Elon's  will either repair or replace and package/recreate and deliver back to Buyer.

Your furniture requires some routine maintenance to maintain its beauty and structural integrity. Please take care to treat your furniture like the fine product it is. Sunlight can and will darken a finish and placement of objects on wood tops will if left for extended periods of time discolor. Proper care and use are essential to preserving your rights under this warranty. Elons will not repair or replace your furniture if improper maintenance or improper use causes damage.

This warranty does not apply if your furniture is damaged by the use of detergents, abrasives or other improper cleaning agents. Additionally, Solid Wood Furniture requires moisture, in dry environments either from geographically location or by use of heaters during winter a humidifier is required.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Each order is handmade specifically for you. Because of this, we have set return and cancellation policies in place. When purchasing from Elon's, you are agreeing to these terms. To cancel any order, you must contact us via our email within 72 hours after the order is placed. The 72 hours includes Saturday, and Sunday. After 72 hours up to 2 weeks, you will be subject to a 20% cancellation fee.

 

Waxed Table and Furniture Care Instructions:

Use coasters or placemats to help prevent marks or stains. Hot plates or cups placed directly on any wood surface will cause discoloration. Avoid mineral oil, chemical, detergent type cleaners as its usage will negatively effect the wax finish. Wipe the table clean with a soft cotton, dry or slightly damp cloth after each use. Avoid prolonged placement of objects on furniture surfaces as discoloration will occur from natural light Wax should be reapplied, as normal use wears away the waxed finish.Briwax, a high-quality finishing wax, is our furniture sealant of choice; apply as directed. Solid Wood Furniture requires moisture, in dry environments either from geographically location or by use of heaters during winter a humidifier is required

Sealed and/or Lacquered Table and Furniture Care Instructions:

Use coasters, placemats or trivets to help prevent marks or stains. Do not place hot items directly on the tabletop. Wipe the table clean with a soft, dry cloth or slightly damp cloth after each use The occasional application of a high-quality clear furniture oil soap [ Murphy’s Oil soap ] will help protect finish and clean . Please note that slight variations in color and an incomplete seal may occur with any sealant; test on an inconspicuous area first. Solid Wood Furniture requires moisture, in dry environments either from geographically location or by use of heaters during winter a humidifier is required.
